Throughout the completion of this assignment, I feel that I have learned some valuable information about video platforms and their relevancy and functionality. This assignment required us to use a screen casting application to record ourselves making a google image search for UCD. We were then required to upload this video to YouTube and edit it. I found this part of the assignment quite challenging as It took me a few times to accurately use the screen casting application, but when I got the hang of it, it was simple enough to utilize. I really enjoyed the editing element and I was unaware that YouTube contained its own editing platform, which was quite useful but some of the editing effects couldn’t be utilized because of how short the video was. I have also found that it has been mentioned that video platforms like YouTube are quite useful for education purposes as student are digital natives and educators should be shifting curriculum and how it is delivered to reflect this (Duffy, 2008).

The peer reviews of my video about my learning seemed to agree with me when I mentioned that it was useful for YouTube to contain an editing tool as it cuts out use of alternative editing software which makes YouTube more accessible for everyone to use.
